What does a day in the life as a General Accounting Specialist look like
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of all accounts to ensure accuracy and investigate reconciling items.
- Prepares working papers and post journal entries.
- Prepares summary of all withheld expanded withholding taxes, prepare and pay the quarterly and annual BIR form for Expanded Withholding Tax Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciles entries and balances and maintains accurate ledger.
- Performs the financial statement close process and prepares the quarterly financial statements subject for review of the finance manager. Process Improvement
- Maintains an orderly accounting filing system; develops monthly financial statements, including cashflow, profit and loss statements and balance sheet.
- Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements; assembles information for external auditors for the annual audit.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents; records day to day financial transactions and completes the posting process.

What are the required qualifications for a General Accounting Specialist?
- Must be a graduate of Accountancy
- At least 3 years of experience in general accounting and BPO industry (accounts payable and receivable; proven bookkeeping experience)
- Knowledgeable and experienced on Sage Intact (QuickBooks) or any related software.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations. Skills Requirement
- Proficient in using MS or Google Office
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
